Eyelid surgery, also known as blepharoplasty, usually takes between 1 and 2 hours, depending on the extent of the procedure (upper eyelids, lower eyelids or both). This procedure is most often performed under local anesthesia with sedation, which means that you are awake during the operation, but completely relaxed and will not feel pain. Anesthesia will block sensation in the eyelid area, and sedation will help you feel relaxed and calm.
