Returning to sports after nose surgery
Question asked: - 22. 06. 2024
I had a nose operation 3 weeks ago, the recovery is excellent, no bruises, but stillš I always have swelling. I play basketball professionally and I am interested in how soon I can return to training, using a protective mask. Also, is there a risk of the nose moving if an injury occurs?

Dearš,
It is recommended that you wait at least 6 weeks after the operation with sports activities, because during this period the nose is stillš always sensitive and vulnerable to injury. Although a mask can help protect the nose, it is still in the recovery phase and there may be displacement or other complications if an impact occurs. I still advise that you wait to be evaluated by your surgeon before returning to full training.
